• We sponsor an annual Christmas Party (including gifts) for 200 severely disabled children at the Auburndale School.
• We organized a charity golf tournament which provided over $13,000.00 for the benefit of the Florida Foster Care Review Project, Inc.
• We provide financial support and guidance to Coral Gables Boy Scout Troop 7 and Cub Scout Pack 7.
• We organize and facilitate activities for the Key Club at Coral Gables High School.
• We provide recognition and financial awards to the Officer Of The Month and the Officer Of The Year as identified by the Coral Gables Police Department.
• We participate in the National Geographics Book Program for 15 elementary schools.

The George Merrick Foundation, inc. is not-for-profit 501(c)3 Florida corporation organized in 1999 for the purpose of maintaining the historic scouting property on Granada Greenway.

Mission
The foundation members take responsibility for the continued maintenance and improvement of the historic scouting property donated by George Merrick, working with our scouting groups, sponsoring community service organization, the city and concerned citizens to achieve this goal.

Vision
To provide the youth of our community with an appropriate facility to learn outdoor skills and youth leadership in an attractive, rustic setting in the midst of our urban environment.
