Volumes have been written about the battle of Bunker Hill, but we have no real knowledge that any American Flag was flown in this battle. John Trumbull, whose paintings of Revolutionary War scenes are widely famous, was an eye-witness and his subsequent drawings depicting the battle prominently displayed this flag.
